Andy brings considerable experience in specimen digitisation and data handling to the Lapworth team, having produced 3D digital models in over 20 institutions across Europe and the USA during his PhD (University of Birmingham), and working extensively with CT and photographic datasets during his MSc (Palaeobiology; University of Bristol) and BSc (Zoology; University of Sheffield).

Andy will be leading the digitisation of the Museum’s collections, with the goal of producing a freely accessible database of digital specimens to enhance education, facilitate research and ensure the extensive resources of the Lapworth Museum are accessible to all.

The post is funded by Arts Council England, through its National Portfolio Organisation Scheme of which the Lapworth is now a member. Andy has been at the Lapworth for a couple months and is fitting into the team very well!
