Checklist for your visit to the Raymond Priestley Centre

When visiting us at the Raymond Priestly Centre, we will provide you with some essential pieces of equipment and activewear that you can use whilst completing your activities.

On this page you will find a kit list detailing the items we can provide you with, and outlining the items you should pack to bring with you. 

Your visitor checklist

Provided by the centre

  • Walking boots
  • Old trainers for water activities
  • Wellington boots
  • Waterproofs
  • Wetsuits
  • Rucksack
  • Drinks bottles
  • Flask for hot drinks
  • Limited supply of warm clothing
  • All technical and safety equipment

Brought by you

  • Toiletries and a towel
  • Any personal medication you normally require
  • Drinks bottle or flask
  • Lots of warm clothing for outdoor use e.g. fleece or woolly jumper, or similar quick drying material, thermal shirt or ‘football type’ top
  • Trousers suitable for outdoor use e.g. tracksuit trousers (jeans are NOT suitable for outside sessions – they stay wet and will be uncomfortable for some activities)
  • Thermal tights or leggings
  • Swimming costume – you will not be forced to swim; this is for use under a wetsuit.
  • An absolute minimum of 1 change of clothes for activities
  • Comfortable casual clothing for use in the Centre
  • Night wear
  • Thicker long socks for use in boots, not cotton tennis socks or trainer socks
  • Practical shoes (trainers) – these may get wet or muddy
  • Indoor shoes to keep clean/dry: sliders / slippers
  • Wool or fleece hat and gloves
  • Walking boots if you already own them
  • Old trainers for water activities

Things to consider bringing

  • Your own pillow
  • Ear plugs (for snorers)/eye mask
  • Snacks for activities and around the centre (no peanuts!)
  • Sun cream
  • Phone / Camera
