This generous donation from proud alumna Diane Meyer Lowman will fund a scholarship of £3,000 for a selected MA Shakespeare scholar for the 2026/27 academic year. Diane earned her MA in Shakespeare Studies from the Shakespeare Institute in 2017. She later authored The Undiscovered Country: Seeing Myself Through Shakespeare’s Eyes, a memoir that explores her personal and academic journey through the lens of Shakespeare’s works. Diane continues to share her passion by teaching Shakespeare in her hometown in Connecticut.
This award is a £3,000 stipend for full-time in-person study on the MA Shakespeare programme for September 2026 entry.
Who can apply?
To be eligible for this award you'll need to be classed as an international student for fee purposes, and have applied for the full-time MA Shakespeare programme, to commence your studies at the start of the 2026 academic year.
Applications for funding can only be considered alongside an application to study.
How to Apply
In order to apply, you must have completed an application to study. You will then need to complete our simple online funding application form.
Decisions will be made on merit and your interest in Shakespeare, based on your funding application form and on your application to study MA Shakespeare.
Applications will be reviewed by a panel of academics from the Shakespeare Institute. In the event of candidates of equal merit being eligible, preference may be given to a student returning to education after a significant break as this reflects Diane's experience of studying at the Shakespeare Institute.
The deadline for applying is Wednesday 25 March 2026 at 12:00 noon GMT.
We will let you know as soon as possible the outcome of your application - usually within the period from early May to the end of June.
