ESR 3’s Systematic Review

Justin Aunger (ESR3) has successfully completed his systematic review of interventions to reduce sedentary behaviour in older adults. Its conclusion suggests that the amount and quality of evidence level is currently insufficient to make any definitive conclusions regarding efficacy regarding sedentary behaviour interventions in older adults, but results so far are promising. Future studies require a more rigorous design to assess the effects of a sedentary behaviour reduction on health markers and function, and should include follow-up to assess duration of behaviour change. Justin is currently seeking out journals in which to publish this review, with the hope of it being published successfully in June 2017.
