Researchers from Project PERFECT will be giving a series of talks in November and December 2017
- From 27 October to 1 December, Sophie Stammers is leading six workshops on the themes of PERFECT, aimed at people with lived experience of hearing voices and unusual beliefs, in collaboration with Mind in Camden and the London Hearing Voices Network. So far, the group has discussed a range of issues in the philosophy of mind and epistemology; including thought experiments; different theories of cognitive processing; and how theoretical models of the psychological and epistemic characteristics of cognition should centre lived experience.
- On 22 November, Katherine Puddifoot and Valeria Motta will speak at a IAS-funded workshop on “Challenges to Wellbeing: The Experience of Loneliness and Epistemic Injustice in the Clinical Encounter” on the themes of project PERFECT, especially epistemic injustice (Katherine) and loneliness (Valeria). The event is hosted by Lisa Bortolotti and Sophie Stammers. Some network members will participate in the workshop, including Matthew Broome, Alex Miller-Tate, and Matthew Parrott.
- On 29 November, Lisa Bortolotti is visiting the Eidyn project at the University of Edinburgh, discussing a paper entitled: “Choice Blindness and the Fluidity of the Self”.
- On 4 December, Katherine Puddifoot will present her paper “Implicit Bias and Prejudice”, co-authored with network member Jules Holroyd, at the Ethics Research Group at Roskilde University. Kasper Lippert Rasmussen and Søren Sofus Wichmann will also present papers related to Katherine’s research.
