Guidance for partners

We aim to make the application process for your incoming students as smooth as possible as they embark on their Study Abroad experience at the University of Birmingham.

For Erasmus and International Exchange students we request a nomination from our overseas partners for all students who select the University of Birmingham, either for one semester or the full academic year.

Please send details of your nominated students to the Study Abroad team, by completing the nomination form below, which will include their full name, their current subject of study and also the proposed subject area here at the University of Birmingham. Once nominated,  your students will be directed to apply online using our online application form. Students are encouraged to apply as early as possible to avoid disappointment in confirmation of their preferred classes or modules.

If a student is applying as a study abroad fee-paying student and therefore outside of the exchange agreement, then he/she can simply apply online before the deadline.

For students wishing to attend Birmingham in 2020/21

Applications for the 2020/21 cycle (for September 2020 and January 2021) are welcome from February 2020.

For the 2020/2021 cycle, and exceptionally in light of the Covid-19 circumstances, we are are pushing forward our autumn semester nomination deadline (providing a later deadline) to the 30 April 2020 and student application deadline to the 15 May 2020 for an admission to the University of Birmingham at any point during the 2020/21 cycle. Please use our online nomination form. Nominations received by email are no longer accepted.

For Admissions to the Spring 2021 semester, we will accept nominations until the 16 October 2020 for entry in Semester 2 only (in January 2021) and the application deadline is 15 November 2020. However we encourage you to send your nominations during the summer via our online nomination form. Nominations received by email are no longer accepted.

Please contact the Study Abroad and Exchanges Team if you anticipate these new deadlines may be challenging for your institution.
