Academics and high-level marketers from across the globe will visit Birmingham Business School at the University of Birmingham from 28th - 29th March to debate a range of issues surrounding the subject of branding.

The Centre for Research in Brand Marketing in association with the Academy of Marketing is hosting the conference entitled ‘Thought Leaders International Conference on Brand Management’ which aims to advance understanding of the best ways of managing brands and will bridge the gap between practitioners and academics through presentations given by commercial experts and forward thinking researchers.

Three keynote note addresses will be delivered by commercial experts: Adam Morgan, founder of the Eatbigfish consultancy, will talk about the way that insight can be gained to market opportunities through new routes; John Albert, Director of Interbrand, will consider how brands can achieve a better return on investment and Mike Tildesley, Marketing Director of Direct Line, will discuss how new approaches to branding can significantly grow a corporate presence in the financial services sector.

The conference will be opened by Professor Jonathan Michie, Director of the Birmingham Business School.

Leslie de Chernatony is a Professor of Brand Marketing. His distinguished career started as a commercial marketer followed by his move to academia. His books include the much-acclaimed From Brand Vision to Brand Evaluation and Creating Powerful Brands (co-written with Malcolm McDonald). Leslie has been identified by The Chartered Institute of Marketing as one of the 50 most influential thinkers in marketing. He is Director of the Centre for Research in Brand Marketing at the Birmingham Business School, which brings together people who share an interest in understanding how to grow brands.
