The colours of prehistory are the subject of a new exhibition at the University of Birmingham’s Lapworth Museum.  In a series of sketches, current student Helen Lees demonstrates how she interprets a world that was without people.

Inspired by some of the fossils and remains in the Museum Helen experiments with the shapes of prehistory and the fact that we do not know what colours are true to this era.

Helen says, ‘The concept of a world without people is fascinating and beautiful. It creates new ideas about what it means to be a human and to live with and alongside other people'.

Admission is free and the exhibition continues at the Lapworth Museum until 22nd June.  The Museum’s opening hours are Monday – Friday 9am to 5pm and Saturday – Sunday 2 – 5pm.
