Dr Raymond Reynolds has been awarded BBSRC funding to collaborate with the leading defence research company QinetiQ. The grant covers the delivery and installation of a number of bespoke items being donated by QinetiQ, along with RA salary for a collaborative project. These items, worth approximately £200k, were previously used to habituate fighter pilots to the extreme motions experienced in modern jet fighters, and include a motorised rotating chair and linear accelerator. They will be used by Dr Reynolds for assessing vestibular function in healthy volunteers as well as patients with balance problems.
