Liz Sharrett, in collaboration with her supervisor, Institute Fellow Dr Tara Hamling, gave a workshop to the cast of the RSC’s forthcoming production of The Taming of the Shrew on the subject of Elizabethan beds.

The Shakespeare Institute has been closely involved with this production since its director Lucy Bailey, her designer Ruth Sutcliffe and her Petruccio David Caves took part in a ‘think-tank’ organised by Professor Dobson on the play in September.

Most of the cast then came in for a follow-up discussion of the play with Professor Ewan Fernie. Liz Sharrett, Tara Hamling and Ewan Fernie have all contributed to the production’s programme.  The show runs from 19 January – 18 February 2012 in Stratford-upon-Avon.
