Birmingham Law School academics Professor Jean McHale and Dr Stephen Smith are organising two seminars at the University of Birmingham in September which will be funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC).
The two events, "Law and Regulation of New Health Technologies: Religion, Faith, belief and the scientific imperative: reconciling the irreconcilable?" and "Conscientious Objection" will feature invited speakers and participants from a range of disciplines and interest groups.
The seminars are part of a broader AHRC research network and the David Price Memorial Seminar Series, "The Influence of Faith and Belief on the Formulation, Content and Operation of Health Law in the United Kingdom". This seminar series involves events held at the Universities of Birmingham, De Montfort, Leicester, Nottingham and Nottingham Trent throughout 2013.
