In December 2013, the Centre for Research in Race & Education (CRRE) at the University of Birmingham gave evidence to the Education Select Committee Inquiry into the Underperformance of White Working Class Children.

Drawing on the latest available data the centre argued that current popular debates on the topic are dangerously skewed by sloppy analysis that misrepresents the true picture and a rush to blame multiculturalism in schools.
