Dr Nicola Rollock, Deputy Director of the Centre for Research in Race and Education at the School of Education, is featured in the 2014 Powerlist of Britain’s most influential Black people. The 2014 edition, launched at London’s Tate Modern in October, is endorsed by the Prime Minster David Cameron and profiles leading Black professionals from a range of sectors and professions including the law, business and finance. Dr Rollock has been recognised for her research about the Black community, notably, the Stephen Lawrence Inquiry and the Black middle classes both of which attracted considerable media and policy interest. The Powerlist was set up by journalist Michael Eboda six years ago as means of highlighting the achievements of Black Britains. The 2014 edition also recognises the achievements of Baroness Doreen Lawrence OBE who opened the Centre for Research in Race and Education in February 2013.
