Dr Zoe Schnepp joins the School of Chemistry as a Birmingham Fellow
Zoe has been working in the National Institute for Materials Science in Japan as a postdoctoral researcher and before that was at the Max Planck Institute for Colloids and interfaces in Germany.
Her research explores sustainable routes to functional nanomaterials. Using Green Chemistry principles, her research group designs nanostructured materials based on simple methods and cheap and abundant precursors. There are many applications for these ideas but one particular area of focus is artificial photosynthesis: using sunlight to produce chemical fuels such as hydrogen or methanol.
