The Philosophy department is up 13 places in the new Guardian league table.

The department has been ranked 15th in the Guardian's University guide 2014. This is a huge step upwards from the last year's 28th position. According to the Guardian, we have made significant improvements in the overall satisfaction with the course, in the so-called Value-added score which measures the effectiveness of our teaching, and in careers after 6 months. This has helped us to come ahead of the philosophy departments at York, Sheffield, Nottingham, and Reading in the new league table.
