The 2010 Cadbury Fellows have formed a research network on African media and popular culture, with Patrick Oloko, Leon Tsambu, Shani Omari, Anne Schumann and Alessandro Jedlowski as the core members.
Recently, they ran an exciting workshop on re-mediation and informality in African popular culture, held in Ouagadougou. Inspired, led and organised by Alessandro, the workshop involved two days of mini-fieldwork projects with Burkinabe musicians, TV producers and other cultural producers, as well as a full programme of research papers and keynotes.
