Rose Whyman's new book 'Stanislavski the Basics' has just been published by Routledge.
The book is an introduction to the life, thought and impact of Konstantin Stanislavski, one of the great innovators of twentieth century theatre. It examines Stanislavski’s life and the context of his work, his major writing on actor training in English translation, his impact on modern theatre and sets out the major exercises that comprise Stanislavski's system of acting with reference to several major plays.
