Third Sector Research Centre - Bridge Funding

The Economic and Social Research Council have agreed to provide a period of 'Bridge Funding' to support TSRC until March 2014.

The Third Sector Research Centre (TSRC) is a Venture Funded ESRC Research Centre, funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), the Office for Civil Society (OCS) and the Barrow Cadbury Trust (BCT). Its current funding comes to an end on 31 August 2013. We are seeking a continuation of large scale funding through the ESRC’s 2013 Centres and Large Grants Competition.

Pending the outcome of this competition (February 2014) ESRC have therefore agreed to provide a period of ‘Bridge Funding’ to support TSRC until March 2014 (when any new Centre funding would be available). This will fund a number of research posts at Birmingham and Southampton, and will allow the Centre to continue its programmes of research and knowledge exchange, building on TSRC’s achievements to date.

In addition to the Bridge Funding the Barrow Cadbury Trust have also agreed to continue their funding for the Centre during the Bridge Funding period and beyond.

TSRC is grateful to ESRC and BCT for their continued support for our work. We will ensure that their support is used to provide high quality academic research, geared to the needs of policy makers and practitioners in the sector.  As might be expected, we are actively pursuing a range of other sources of funding for our work, and we are confident that we will continue in operation beyond the end of our current funding period.
