Academic Services shortlised at 2014 THELMAs

The University of Birmingham (Academic Services teams) is shortlisted in two categories for the 2014 Times Higher Education Leadership & Management Awards which celebrates leaders in the field of Leadership and Management.

The University of Birmingham (Academic Services teams) is shortlisted in two categories for the 2014 Times Higher Education Leadership & Management Awards which celebrates leaders in the field of Leadership and Management:

  • Outstanding Leadership and Management Team – Birmingham Foundation Academy
  • Outstanding Registry Team

The team for establishing the Birmingham Foundation Academy (represented from colleagues across Academic Services and the wider University) has been recognised for successfully taking an innovative project from inception to completion with outstanding results and creating an international foundation programme which is delivered at sub degree level by all five University Colleges

Registry has been recognised for the success of their College Academic Policy Partner roles which were established during 2012/13 and provide effective communication with the University’s Colleges and Schools and effectively dealing with increased numbers of student complaints before they reach the Office of Independent Adjudicator.

Mr Brendan Casey, Director of Academic Services reported that this is an outstanding achievement for colleagues in Registry and the Birmingham Foundation Academy (part of Academic Services) and thanked them for playing a vital role in delivering these new initiatives.

The winners will be announced at the THELMA gala dinner and awards ceremony on Tuesday 17 June 2014 at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane , London.
