The School of Psychology’s Professor Leam Craig and
Dr Louise Dixon have been invited to edit a landmark international book series about offender rehabilitation.
Professor Craig and Dr Dixon will work with Canadian colleague Stephen Wormith on the books, which cover subjects such as personality disorders, substance misuse and alcohol-related violence.
International reviewers have described the series, which is titled What Works in Offender Rehabilitation, as an “essential guide for forensic professionals”.
Following the success of the first volume, What Works in Offender Rehabilitation: An Evidenced Based Approach to Assessment and Treatment, publisher Wiley-Blackwell has commissioned three more titles:
- What Works in Violence Risk Management
- What Works in Child Protection
- What Works with Psychopathy and Personality Disorder
As part of the series launch Professor Craig and Dr Dixon hosted a conference at the University of Birmingham in September called What Works in Offender Rehabilitation.
The event showcased the latest research and attracted clinicians, practitioners and researchers from across the UK and Europe.
