PhD student, Terkimbi Atonde spends eight months teaching at a university in Brazil

English Language and Applied Linguistics PhD student, Terkimbi Atonde has just started an eight-month teaching placement at Sao Paulo State University in Brazil.

English Language and Applied Linguistics PhD student, Terkimbi Atonde has just started an eight-month teaching placement at Sao Paulo State University in Brazil, which has been organised jointly by the University of Birmingham and the British Council.

While in Brazil, Terkimbi will continue to study for his PhD (which focuses on the discourse of fundraising in universities) whilst teaching academic English to students at Sao Paulo State University, Assis campus. He will also receive training as an IELTS examiner, which he hopes will prove useful for his future career.
