Dr Jerry Tew has been invited to present the academic perspective on the future direction of mental health social work at a Roundtable Event with the All Party Parliamentary Group on Social Work and the British Association of Social Workers at the House of Commons on Wednesday 10th December.

A wide range of experience will be represented and three participants will give 5 minute statements on the key issues facing social work from the respective perspectives of academic, service user and practitioner. The entire discussion will be taped and transcribed into a report as part of the evidence gathering process for an Inquiry into Mental Health Social Work which the APPG plans to conduct after the General Election. This report of our evidence will be published at the joint SPN and BASW conference on March 17th. BASW and SPN will also issue a short joint statement after the APPG meeting of December 10th setting out their views.
