Participants in the National Student Survey (NSS) have ranked Chemical Engineering highly at the University of Birmingham with 95% student satisfaction.

These outstanding results rank Chemical Engineering as 1st in the Russell Group ahead of Newcastle, Imperial College and Cambridge.

As well as overall student satisfaction, students were particularly satisfied with the quality of teaching, academic support and focus on personal development at Birmingham. A number of individual courses within the School also attained an impressive 100% score.

The National Student Survey has been undertaken annually since 2005 and is open to final year undergraduate students at institutions in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The survey is designed to assess students' opinions of the quality of their degree programmes, with seven different scores published including an "overall satisfaction" mark.

The NSS survey highlights the Schools commitment to outstanding student experience and reinforces the University's position as a high quality world-class institution.

Chemical Engineering was also recently ranked as 3rd overall in the UK by The Guardian University Guide 2016.
