Kevin Gell – Doctor of Science (Wednesday 10 December, 10.30)
Kevin Gell is the founder of Tessella, an international analytics, software services and consultancy company, which was the recipient of the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation in 2011. Following his degree in Physics from Birmingham in 1970, Kevin worked for IBM before establishing Tessella in 1980, initially to provide systems support for IBM mainframes. Kevin is a Fellow of the Institute of Mathematics and the Institute of Physics, a Chartered Engineer and a Chartered Management Accountant.
Nitin Sodha – Doctor of the University (Wednesday 10 December, 16.30)
Nitin Sodha is the managing director of Knights Pharmacy, a chain of pharmacies across England, and established the family-run pharmaceutical company Lexon in 1995, supplying both the UK and international markets.
Professor John Nolan – Doctor of Engineering (Friday 12 December, 13.30)
Professor Nolan is a Royal Academy of Engineering Visiting Professor of Innovation in the School of Civil Engineering at the University of Birmingham and Chairman of Antringham Developments, and Nolan Associates, a civil and structural engineering consultancy. Professor Nolan has extensive engineering experience in the construction industry and is Vice Chairman at the Construction Industry Council and a past president of the Institution of Structural Engineers.
