David Gillborn made Laureate by US Honor Society

David Gillborn has been admitted to the Laureate Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi (KDP), the US-based International Honor Society in Education.

David Gillborn (Director of the Centre for Research in Race & Education and Director of Research in the School of Education) has been admitted to the Laureate Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi (KDP), the US-based International Honor Society in Education. Founded in 1911 to foster excellence in education, and promote fellowship among those dedicated to teaching, KDP has an initiated membership that exceeds 1.2 million.

Membership is of the Honorary Laureate Chapter is limited to 60 living scholars. The chapter was established in 1924 to acknowledge people who have made ‘a significant and lasting impact on the profession of education’. John Dewey was the first nominee. Subsequent KDP Laureates include Albert Einstein, Margaret Mead, Eleanor Roosevelt, Jean Piaget, and George Washington Carver. Professor Gillborn will be formally inducted into the Laureate Chapter in a ceremony in October.
