Listening to young people

New research is being undertaken through the Public Service Academy to detail a whole range of elements that converge to assemble 'disadvantage-disorder' in the policy lexicon, public services and the lives of children and young people.

Deborah Youdell and Ian McGimpsey have begun the interviews with young people that will inform their research role in the Destination Work youth employment programme. Deborah said: ‘This is a great opportunity to hear from young people themselves about their experiences of unemployment and getting into work, and to allow these experiences to influence future approaches to supporting young people into employment'.
