The University of Birmingham has been challenging and developing great minds for more than a century, and this year our 300,000th graduate will complete their degree. To celebrate the occasion, the Development, Alumni and Business Engagement Department requested nominations of inspirational current students. Due to the impressive submissions, a total of twelve students were selected to best represent the spirit of the University in 2015. The School of Education is delighted that Hannah Bevington, a final year Education student was chosen as one of three representatives from the College of Social Sciences.
Following graduation, Hannah will embark on the MA Social Work at Birmingham, building on her extensive voluntary work and internships in a number of settings including Birmingham City Council, Staffordshire County Council, an inner-city special school and a rural primary school. Hannah is a keen fundraiser for several local charities including St Mary's Hospice, a dedicated supporter of Birmingham City Football Club and a member of the Harry Potter Society. Whilst at Birmingham, Hannah has participated in a mentoring scheme, gained an Advanced Personal Skills Award and founded the Doctor Who Society. She has also played an active part as a student ambassador, encouraging and supporting prospective students.
