Social Work student, Victoria Ward, has been awarded the winning entry for this year's Frances Sheldon Award, for her dissertation 'An investigation into how hospice based palliative care is able to adapt to meet the needs of service users with a mental health problem: A case study in a local hospice.'

Comments from the judges: "The dissertation highlights an area of practice that needs development. The themes that were generated were substantial and provided new insights into mental health and palliative care."

Victoria will be presented with her cheque for £250 and certificate at the Association's Annual Conference which is being held at the Friend's House, Euston Road, London.
