Trust, Diplomacy and Conflict Transformation - 13-17 April 2015

The 2015 programme focused on how diplomats and negotiators can better develop empathy and trust through face-to-face encounters, and how this approach can lead to greater levels of success in transforming global conflicts. The programme examined a number of historical and contemporary examples of successful (and unsuccessful) face-to-face diplomatic encounters. In doing so, it explored the psychological context of how individuals signal intention, detect deception and assess the trustworthiness (or otherwise) of their diplomatic counterparts.
