Dr Louise Hardwick contributed to the latest episode of popular BBC1 programme Who Do You Think You Are?, which featured the science presenter Liz Bonnin.

Liz Bonnin’s thought-provoking family story captures the complexity of societies in the Caribbean, and a substantial part of the programme focuses on Martinique.

Behind the scenes, Louise, who has been working on Martinique for over a decade, used her research to help the team prepare the episode after they got in touch with questions about the French Caribbean.

She has tweeted about the exciting experience, and has written a blog post about that dream moment when the BBC needs a Martinique expert.
