Scott Wisor responds to Obama's visit to Hiroshima
President Obama visited Hiroshima last week and reiterated a normative commitment to a world free of nuclear weapons. His administration has taken several steps towards a world safer from nuclear conflict and nuclear accident, including securing a deal with Iran and hosting a series of nuclear security summits. But he has also authorized the strategic modernization of America's nuclear arsenal, arguably putting pressure on extant deterrence relationships, undermining the cause of nuclear non-proliferation, and putting further pressure on the NPT. Scott Wisor comments on these issues over at Political Violence at a Glance.
