The Colour of Class: the educational strategies of the Black middle classes by Nicola Rollock, David Gillborn, Carol Vincent & Stephen Ball has won 2nd Prize in the 2016 Society for Educational Studies Book Awards. Books are submitted by publishers for consideration by the SES committee and each book is assessed on the following criteria: quality of research and/or scholarship; originality of analysis and argument; theory/practice relation quality and the accessibility of the writing.

'The Colour of Class' was submitted for consideration for the Award by the book's publisher Routledge. Dr Rollock collected the award, on behalf of the research team, at a reception at the Athenaeum on Thursday 10th November.
