Who wrote Shakespeare?

In an article for the BBC, Dr Martin Wiggins examines what Shakespeare would be doing if he were alive today. Would he be writing for the stage, or working as a scriptwriter for film or television? Are they the modern media which are the closest equivalents to the stage of the Globe Theatre?
