Jasmeet Reyat accepting first poster prize from Ann Ager

Jasmeet Reyat from Mike Tomlinson’s group publishes his PhD findings in the Journal of Immunology

Jasmeet Reyat, shown here accepting first poster prize from Ann Ager at the Lymphocyte Migration Meeting in September 2015, has identified a role for tetraspanins Tspan5 and Tspan17 in inflammation.  These previously functionally uncharacterised tetraspanins do this by promoting the scissor action of ADAM10 towards the endothelial cell-cell adhesion molecule VE-cadherin.  This may loosen cell junctions to promote the migration of white blood cells out of the bloodstream to sites on infection and inflammation.

Jasmeet graduated last summer and is now a postdoctoral researcher at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, USA.
