Dr Louise Hardwick has been awarded £1000 by the Institute of Latin American Studies, part of the University of London, through their national grants scheme.

The award provides funding to bring Dr Jean Antoine-Dunne (University of the West Indies) to be a Visiting Fellow in the Department of Modern Languages in March 2017. Dr Antoine-Dunne's groundbreaking work on Caribbean cinema cuts across language divides, and deepens the research being carried out on the Caribbean and in Postcolonial Studies more generally. Louise and Jean will organise a public film screening, guest lecture, and other campus film screenings open to all students.
