On 22 December 2015, the General Assembly adopted a resolution to establish an annual International Day to recognize the critical role women and girls play in science and technology communities. In welcoming the efforts of the United Nations, we have created this website to increase the visibility of women in a wide range of science disciplines. Our aim is to empower and support women in research and academic environments, and to reduce gender biases in science and in life in general by telling to the public as many successful experiences as we can.

Join us in the celebration of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science next 11th February 2017! Together with the Marie Curie post-doctoral fellow Mariachiara Barzotto (University of Birmingham Business School), we have created a website in which we are publishing successful stories of women working in a wide range of research and academic disciplines: www.womeninscience2017.wordpress.com
