This year’s Institute of Metabolism and System Research (IMSR) Summer School cohort fought off tough competition to join the department and work with our PIs on individual projects this summer.

The students, from the Universities of Birmingham and Oxford, are currently studying Biomedical Science, Medicine and Biochemistry and will spend six-eight weeks in IMSR, learning basic techniques, attending a weekly Journal Club and having the opportunity to participate in IMSR seminars and activities.

The IMSR Summer School is a unique opportunity to learn more about endocrinology and metabolism and proves an invaluable experience to add to the CV. Some of our students have found their experience so rewarding they have returned to intercalate or to take their PhDs at the University of Birmingham.
