Jean-Yves Roignant, Marc Bühler, Matthias Soller and colleagues have extended our understanding of the regulation of N6-methyladenosine (m6A), which is the most abundant mRNA modification in eukaryotes. m6A has a critical role in mRNA metabolism, is important for healthy cell function and impacts on diseases such as blood cancers and solid tumours.
