School children have fun and learn new skills at First Lego competition

The Birmingham Regional Tournament of the FIRST LEGO League took place at the University of Birmingham on Friday 15 December 2017.It gave local school children the opportunity to have fun and learn new skills.

The Birmingham Regional Tournament of the FIRST LEGO League took place at the University of Birmingham on Friday 15 December 2017. The competition runs annually and is designed to promote STEM subjects in schools, to encourage children to learn new skills and to introduce them to concepts of engineering.

For this year’s theme, teams were asked to improve the way people find, transport, use, or dispose of water. 12 teams of school children accepted the challenge, and competed against each other to win trophies in the following categories: Robot Design, Robot Performance, Best Project and Core Values (team skills).
