The School of Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation Sciences is honoured and proud to have been awarded a Silver Athena Swan Award in October 2018 from the Equality Challenge Unit. This award is valid until April 2022. The application and Action Plan successfully demonstrate the impact of our Equality and Diversity vision and activities, and this award recognises our commitment to developing and sustaining an inclusive culture and supportive environment that values all staff and students.
A huge congratulations to the School’s Equality and Diversity Committee, led by Dr Jennifer Cumming. This group has been instrumental in working across staff and students to gather data and intervene to address imbalances, with the goal to optimise our working environment to support inclusion. This achievement is shared by the entire School, and we look forward to building upon this achievement as we move forward.
