University of Birmingham success in 2019 rankings

The University of Birmingham has been ranked in the top ten of UK universities for 30 of the 48 subjects it offers according to the The Complete University Guide 2019 rankings.

The University of Birmingham has been ranked in the top ten of UK universities for 30 of the 48 subjects it offers according to the The Complete University Guide 2019 rankings.

The rankings score each of the UK’s 131 universities against entry standards, research quality, research intensity, student-staff ratio, academic services spend and student facilities spend and have named the University as the best in the UK for American Studies and Physiotherapy.

The University of Birmingham is in the top ten of UK universities for 30 of the 48 subjects offered including Drama, Dance and Cinematics (3nd), Chemical Engineering (4th), Middle Eastern & African Studies (5th), Physics & Astronomy (6th), Nursing (6th), Psychology (7th), Classics & Ancient History (8th) and Geology (10th).

Overall, the University has improved from 16th place in 2018, to 15th place in 2019.

Professor Sir David Eastwood, Vice-Chancellor at the University of Birmingham, said:
