A student from the Birmingham Business School was awarded for the 3rd Best Paper in 4th Annual Islamic Finance Conference (AIFC) 2019 at JW Marriott Hotel Surabaya Indonesia.

She presented a paper entitled ‘Boundary Objects: Sustaining Impact of Green Sukuk Life Cycle to Address Climate Change Issues’ as part of her doctoral research project.
The AIFC is an annual event organised by the Indonesia Ministry of Finance to facilitate discussion and exchange of information between experts, policymakers, academics, economists, and the private sector related to Islamic finance, development and economic issues. The 4th AIFC focused on a theme of "Blending Islamic Finance and Impact Investing for the Sustainable Development Goals” also incorporated call for papers to gather high quality of scientific papers from various countries to be selected as a reference for sharia economic and financial policy makers.
The conference were also attended by notable speakers from leading bodies, including Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), The Islamic Research and Training Institute (IRTI), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), International Centre for Education in Islamic Finance (INCEIF), National Islamic Finance Committee, Refinitive, Blossom Financing, Indonesia Waqf Board, The Council of Indonesia Ulama, International Finance Cooperation and other associated leading bodies.
