Dr Sophie Cox, a lecturer in Healthcare Technologies has been shortlisted for the Woman in Tech award at the West Midlands Tech Awards 2019.
Lecturer in Healthcare Technologies in the School of Chemical Engineering, Sophie Cox has been shortlisted for the Woman in Tech award at the West Midlands Tech Awards 2019.
Dr Cox has been making significant contributions to the Healthcare Technologies field by innovating new medical devices with unprecedented functionality with the aim of improving patient quality of life. These translational activities are underpinned by work to understand how we can control the way our bodies respond to these implants.
Speaking of the achievement Dr Cox said, “Being shortlisted for this award is a fantastic recognition of our research impact, which has been many years of hard work from the team. I would also like to recognise all our clinical and industrial partners from across the UK who help enhance the societal value of our research and teaching”.
The awards ceremony will take place on December 12 at the ICC in Birmingham. The eight award categories are;
