Public consultation on new UK domestic subsidy control
Response to the February 2021 Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) public consultation on "Subsidy Control – Designing a new approach for the UK".
In February 2021 the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) launched a public consultation on “Subsidy Control – Designing a new approach for the UK”.
Dr Luca Rubini submitted a response together with Professor Andrea Biondi (KCL), Anneli Howard QC (Mockton Chambers), Dr Totis Kotsonis (Pinsent Masons), Professor Stephanie Rickard (LSE), Dr Oana Stefan (KCL) and Kelly Stricklin-Coutinho (39 Essex Chambers).
“This is a pivotal exercise” – says Dr Luca Rubini – “what we have tried to do is to suggest a model that fits the UK situation while building on the available best practice and at the same time ensuring compliance with the UK’s international law obligations”.
