A blog from Birmingham Poet Laureate, Professor Adrian Blackledge, currently appears on the front of the Library of Birmingham website. In the blog, he recounts his current activity as Poet Laureate for Birmingham and discusses the challenges of writing poems for particular occasions and purposes.
The Library of Birmingham is collaborating with the University of Birmingham and other organisations in a AHRC funded project Translation and Translanguaging: Investigating Linguistic and Cultural Transformations in Superdiverse Wards in Four UK Cities which aims to develop new understandings of multilingual interaction in cities in the UK, and communicate these to policy-makers and communities locally, nationally, and internationally.
