Giuseppe Forte, a student from the University of Birmingham’s Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) Formulation Engineering, was awarded best presentation for his work on catalyst manufacture at the IChemE Fluid Mixing Processes SIG Student Research event in April 2018.

The Fluid Mixing Processes Special Interest Group at the IChemE holds an annual meeting for UK based research students to present their work.

The 2018 event was hosted by the University of Manchester. A variety of innovative presentations were given by research students from the University of Birmingham, Imperial College London, Loughborough University and University College London.

The talks covered a wide range of topics reflecting the current trends in the field of mixing. The best presentation was awarded to University of Birmingham student, Giuseppe Forte, who is working on catalyst manufacture at Johnson Matthey (JM) – a global leader in sustainable technologies.

The prize will allow Giuseppe to present his work at MIXING 16 - the 16th European Conference on Mixing, organised by the European Federation of Chemical Engineering and taking place in Toulouse, France in September 2018.

Upon receiving the award, Giuseppe, said:

“I am honoured to obtain this award amongst such talented research students. I am delighted to represent the high quality research work carried out in the School of Chemical Engineering at University of Birmingham in collaboration with industries.”
