Professor Andy Lymer, Director of CHASM, met with Eddie Hughes Conservative MP for Walsall North at the start of November 2018.
They discussed details of current tax policy related to personal finance and housing – in part related to the recent Budget 2018 but also more generally as is applicable to Eddie’s local consistency and his roles within Government. Andy provided Eddie with copies of his tax work and recent reports produced by CHASM on its work for Vivid Housing and in partnership with East Devon District Council and LiveWest. Eddie was clearly taken with this work as in his next speech in Parliament he quoted form this work to the House in making points about the nature and impact of UK tax burdens.
