BizzInn, the University of Birmingham business incubator, invites applications for Pitchfest 2018

Applications now open for Pitchfest 2018, a competition designed to help Midlands entrepreneurs develop a winning pitch for investment, and the opportunity to pitch to investors in the final stages of the competition.

Pitchfest is organised annually by Aston University, the University of Birmingham and the University of Warwick, and delivers free training though the universities’ business incubators.

The competition begins with pitch preparation, where participants are invited to free workshops led by pitching experts to help them perfect their approach. Judging rounds follow, where participants are invited to pitch to a panel of investors and receive feedback on the presentation.

These workshops and judging panels take place in June, July and September – and entrants are encouraged to apply early in order to benefit from this training.

The University of Birmingham supports Pitchfest through its BizzInn business incubator, which delivers a rolling programme of trainings and workshops for Pitchfest entrants in the run-up to the competition.

The BizzInn also provides an intensive start-up and growth programme that is free for eligible Midlands companies.  This programme is tailored to the company’s needs and includes guidance from business specialists and sector-specific Entrepreneurs-in-Residence.

For more information about BizzInn membership, contact Dr Nick Housby at J.N.Housby@bham.ac.uk.
