EQUIS commended the school for demonstrating outstanding quality, which was seen as being well above the level required

The Birmingham Business School at the University of Birmingham has been awarded a further five years of re-accreditation by the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS).

This achievement consolidates the Business School’s position amongst a handful of business schools in the UK that hold triple-crown accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the Association of MBAs (AMBA) and EQUIS.

Through retaining its triple-crown accreditation, the School has shown commitment and determination by meeting specific standards of excellence, as well as demonstrating ongoing improvement to ensure it provides the highest quality of education to its students.

EQUIS commended the school for demonstrating outstanding quality, which was seen as being well above the level required and considered as best practice in several areas. Praise was also given to the School’s work in ethics, responsibility and sustainability within its programme portfolio and other activities.

Professor Catherine Cassell, Dean of the Business School said: “This is an excellent outcome for the Business School and recognises our commitment to both the provision of high quality education and ground-breaking research. We are particularly pleased with how the panel noted and celebrated our commitment to responsible business throughout all of our global education and thought leadership activities.”

EQUIS is an internationally-recognised accreditation body ensuring continuous improvement and quality within business schools. EQUIS also acknowledges uniqueness within institutions that have a clear strategy on how they are shaping future leaders.
