The event is an Arts at Stowe members event and will take place at 8pm in the Blue Room.

Some of Europe’s most recent arrivals have come from Muslim countries such as Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan. Yafa Shanneik’s research investigates the challenges faced by female Muslim refugees as they seek to establish a new home. She argues that art can play a crucial role in creating a “politics of belonging” by challenging religious boundaries and facilitating integration.

This event is part of Dr Shanneik's research project "Narratives of Displacement: Iraqi and Syrian Women in UK, Germany and Jordan".
